The Awareness and Care NGO participated in the 40th meeting of the Council of the Union of NGOs in the Islamic World (UNIW), held in Malaysia in partnership with the Malaysian WADAH Foundation, with the participation of representatives from several civil, NGO, and humanitarian organizations.

Representing the association at the meeting were Director General Dr. Imad Saeed and Personnel Officer Mr. Hassan Al-Zarif.

During the meeting, the Director General delivered a speech conveying a picture of the humanitarian conditions in Lebanon and the human casualties and widespread damage to homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods resulting from the Israeli attacks. He noted that official figures reflect only a portion of the extent of the suffering, while behind every number lies the story of an affected person and family.

Dr. Saeed stressed that the need today goes beyond sympathy to actual action in supporting humanitarian, health, educational, and psychological efforts, and backing local institutions working directly with those affected. He also highlighted the importance of leveraging international relations to help protect civilians, facilitate the delivery of aid, and support efforts aimed at stopping violence and promoting security and stability.

In his speech, he emphasized Lebanon's aspiration to move beyond the phase of relief dependency toward restoring stability, the return of displaced persons to their homes, children to their schools, and families to their normal lives.

He concluded his speech by saying:

“Do not let Lebanon's suffering be a passing news story. Turn your solidarity into action, your relations into bridges of protection, and your influence into a force that creates peace and preserves human dignity.”

The association's participation in this meeting comes as part of strengthening its presence within international humanitarian platforms and expanding horizons of cooperation and coordination with civil and humanitarian institutions to serve affected communities and support humanitarian work.
