Al-Wa'i and Al-Mawasat Charitable Association Inaugurates the Douris Cultural Center

In a step aimed at enhancing the cultural and educational presence in the local community, Al-Wa'i and Al-Mawasat Charitable Association inaugurated the Douris Cultural Center, in the presence of the Mufti of Baalbek-Hermel Governorate, Sheikh Dr. Bakr Al-Rifai, the President of the Association, Mr. Fadi Basbous, the Executive Director, Mr. Mohammad Yahya, the President of the Turkish YKD Association, Mr. Yasser Fateh, and the accompanying delegation, alongside a number of sheikhs, school principals, municipal representatives, mukhtars, and local figures.

The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, presented by Sheikh Ali Hassan, followed by speeches from the participating organizations.

In his speech on behalf of Al-Wa'i and Al-Mawasat Charitable Association, Executive Director Mr. Mohammad Yahya emphasized the importance of opening the center in providing a space for learning and capacity development, as well as enhancing communication with the local community, stressing the Association's commitment to supporting cultural and educational initiatives that open new horizons for the people of the region.

Speeches were also delivered by Al-Abrar Association and Douris Charitable Association, while the President of the Turkish YKD Association, Mr. Yasser Fateh, delivered a speech in Arabic, and the Vice President of the Association, Mr. Yacoub Demir, delivered a speech in Turkish.

The ceremony included presenting an honorary plaque to the Turkish YKD Association in appreciation of the partnership and cooperation, followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the center to view its facilities and equipment.

The opening of the center comes within the efforts of Al-Wa'i and Al-Mawasat Charitable Association to support cultural and educational initiatives, and to provide spaces that offer community members broader opportunities for learning, interaction, and capacity building, thereby enhancing the role of culture and education in serving the local community.
